Structure Fire Keeps DCFD busy Monday
February 9, 2004 - At approximately 10:00 pm Monday night, Desoto County Fire Departments battled a single
story residential structure fire on Goodman Road (Hwy 302). Crews from Walls, Eudora, Nesbit, Summershill, and Horn Lake responded to fight the blaze.

October 27, 2003 - Fortunately everyone managed to escape
before we arrived at this fire. Due to a lack of hydrants
in the area, 25-30 firefighters from 7 departments assisted
in extinguishing the blaze.
6 Departments Battle Midnight Blaze
October 30, 2003 - Friday night, Walls was
toned to assist Eudora with a structure fire. The call came in
around 11:50pm after being routed to Memphis dispatch because of a
cell phone. There were at least 8 people at the residence
including several children. All occupants managed to escape
before the fire spread through the entire structure. Upon
arrival Eudora found heavy fire conditions and called for additional
manpower and water. A water relay was setup with four tankers to
supply three engine companies. Walls assisted with 21/2"
attack lines to knock the fully involved fire down. Crews
worked until after 5am Saturday morning with salvage and overhaul
operations. Companies assisted Eudora from Walls, Hernando,
Love, Nesbit, and Bridgetown.
McLemore Alley Structure Fire
October 2, 2003 - Thursday , Walls Rescue 3 responded to a
reported structure fire on McLemore. Walls was assisted by companies from
Eudora and Horn Lake on a fully involved single story structure. One
firefighter was taken to the Hospital due to dehydration, and was released later
that day.
Stateline Road Structure Fire
September 27, 2003 - Walls Fire Department
responded to a reported structure fire with smoke showing at a vacant house.
Upon arriving, Rescue 3 found a smoldering fire contained to one room.
Rescue Company 3 used cross ventilation to remove the large amount of heat
throughout the house. Horn Lake Engine 3 also made scene and assisted
Walls.

Fire Dept assists Horn Lake FD with restaurant blaze
July 18 - Walls FD was called to provide
extra manpower in a blaze that destroyed one local business. The call
came in before 2100 hrs on Friday night for the recently opened "Buddy
G's" restaurant on
Goodman
Road. 3 Horn Lake engine companies and one Horn Lake truck
company arrived extinguish the fire. Walls Engine 12 was called
in to provide manpower for salvage and overhaul operations,
while Walls Rescue 3 stood by at Horn Lake Station 1.
The cause of fire is undetermined at this time. Crews
were on scene until after 1 in the morning to ensure that the
fire was out.
